M35 Motorway Project
From Ideas, I Came Up With A Project For A Motorway, Going Through Several Phases Of Development. All Of The Phases Will Be Listed, From 1-4.
Phase 1 (New Ross - Carlow)
Phase 1 Of My Idea Was Mainly Simple, Apart From Constructional Add-Ons. The Road Started As N35 At A Roundabout With The R729. Then, It Became Dual-Carriageway NE (North East) Of Ballywilliam. The Main Motorway Then Began NE Of Rathnure. It Had 2 Lanes For Any Vehicle Under 3t, Then Another 2 For Anything Above. The Road Replaced The N80 For Most Parts. Then, It Ended At Tinryland, And Continued As N35 Until Carlow.
Phase 2
This Phase Was Nearly The Same, Apart From It Tunneled Under Bunclody Instead Of Bypassing, And It Continued Until Carlow, Instead Of Ending Prior To That.
Phase 3 (New Ross-Portlaoise)
Phase 3 changed largely from the previous phases. Firstly, all utility and standard vehicles are moved to the same lanes. Then, the route changes as well, leading from New Ross, Co. Wexford to Portlaoise, Co. Laois. This new route also includes a full dual carriageway between the western end of New Ross, to the South-Eastern end of Rathnure. the road continues over 17 exits including Bunclody, Tullow, Carlow And Portlaoise. The road then merges onto the M7 Dublin-Limerick Motorway (E-20).
Phase 4 (New Ross-Dublin [M4 Kinnegad-Dublin])
This phase is the most innovative of the project and is currently the main focus point for the roads future. The road begins where in 2019, the N25 New Ross bypass will open. This Section bypasses half of New Ross, and the N25 Bypasses the other. the motorway temporarily ends at a roundabout with the N30 Enniscorthy-New Ross road. The dual carriageway begins and ends at the same areas, and so does the Motorway. The road runs as normal until the junction with the M7, but it would be a interchange instead of merging.
(N3 Navan Rd, West of Dublin)
The road then follows the current N80 National Secondary Road between Portlaoise and Tullamore, and then merges onto the M4, West Of Kinnegad.
